The New Year always bring talk of new goals, new dreams, and new bullet journals (for those of you who have mom friends in their late twenties.)
This year I'm taking on a challenge I never thought I would. In fact, it's something my stubborn aries mind told myself I couldn't do in High School. For the first time I'm diving heavily into characters and scenes. This is the first 10 days of my journey.
I didn't know what I'd be doing starting out, whether I'd be focusing on more children's book scenes like I worked on in December or more human figures. I didn't know if I'd be working on the same project or have a million different ideas like I always do (obviously that's what happened) But I do know I'm really happy with the cheerful colorful mess I ended up with.
I worked really hard these past 10 days. I threw out more paper than I have in the whole 2 years I've been working in marker, but I'm learning. I'm growing...
and I'm actually getting a lot better.
So I'm excited to see what the next 10 days will bring.
For now here are the challenges I've been working on - you can mouse over each photo for more information as well.
I am participating in the #100daysproject - which is essentially 100 days to work on a theme for your art portfolio
@thiswhimsyme on Instagram did a #drawthisinyourstyle that ended up being my first piece in this 100 days challenge
@carolinecohenring also did a #drawthisinyourstyle that was much harder for me than expected.
@laumoraiti.illustration started #nonsensedoodleclub with 15 quirky prompts that have really got my creativity flowing.
@ragonia_ created a #drawthisinyourstyle for a really cool plant woman.
Let me know in the comments which piece is your favorite and what you want to see more of.
